Work of the Week

Throughout this term, the Junior Years have been celebrating all the fantastic endeavours which are taking place in school through a special showcase.

Junior Years Work of the Week

Each week, Work of the Week highlights what the children have been up to over the past 5 days, with examples of their efforts shared in the weekly Rainbow Roundups which the pupils tune into on a Friday in place of attending assemblies.

Examples which have been shared in recent weeks include Early Years (L1-L3) number work, writing, artwork to mark Armistice, and Autumn wreaths; L4 and L5 crannog sunsets and striking animal artworks; L6 Rangoli patterns to celebrate Divali, tudor portraits as part of their history studies, and creative writing; and L7 carbon footprint displays and maths problem solving tasks.

Each week is given to the Early Years, L4/L5 or L6/L7 and last week the spotlight was on festive artwork and writing from L1, classwork by L2 on the soon-to-be-shared Early Years nativity performances, and, from L3, Tay Whale and Winter-inspired artwork, and bird feeders created by the L3 Greenfingers Gardening Club.

Deputy Rector, Julie Rose, said, “Sharing the children’s work in this way began during lockdown when we ran our initial Rainbow Roundups from our care hub as a way to keep our Junior Years community connected.

“In continuing to share the work of the week now that we are all back in school we have the opportunity to recognise the effort the children and teachers are making.

“The work is celebrated by the whole of the Junior Years with name checks being given and well-deserved praise hopefully motivating everyone to try their best in all they do.”
