Ways To Give
All donations are greatly appreciated. By making a donation you will become part of the community of donors who understand and value our school's capacity to advance the next generation. We thank you for considering to support our school, either through a donation to our Bursary Fund or our Capital Campaign 2015 - 2020.
We are delighted that we are now able to accept donations via our online Giving Forms, which are an efficient, easy and completely secure way for you to make your generous gift.
Should you wish to donate online to our Bursary Fund, please click here.
If you would like to support our current Capital Campaign, please click here.
Should you wish to make your donation via cheque, please make it payable to The High School of Dundee Foundation and post it to the following address:
The Office of Development, High School of Dundee, Euclid Crescent, Dundee, DD1 1HU.
Alternatively, please feel free to present the cheque to our Reception team, who are based in the Main Building.
In order to maximise the value of your generous donation, we would be most grateful if you may be so kind as to tick the box on your Giving Form confirming your consent for us to claim Gift Aid on your donation. For an explanation of Gift Aid, and whether this is applicable to you, please see further down this page for full details.
You can make a donation on either a single/one-off, Monthly, or Annual basis. Our Giving Form provides you with the option to state your preference in this respect.
We can also claim Gift Aid on your Individual, Monthly, and Annual Gifts, all you have to do is tick the box on your Giving Form to confirm your consent for us to claim the Gift Aid.
Credit / Debit Card
We are delighted that we are also able to process donations via credit, or debit card. Should you wish to make your gift in this way you can either visit us at the school where we can process your donation via our portable card machine, or if you do not live locally we are also able to take credit / debit card donations over the telephone. Should you prefer to make your donation over the telephone, please call 01382 202 921 and ask to be connected to the Office of Development and a member of our team will be happy to assist you.
Some companies operate what is known as a Matched Giving Scheme, to support charities their employees donate to, which really has the opportunity to increase your gift. To obtain further information on how this process works, these details will be available from your Human Resources Department which you are then able to pass on to us here at the Office of Development.
Gifts of shares are also most welcome. Both individuals and companies are able to claim Income Tax Relief, and can also obtain relief from Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax.
Using the Payroll Giving Scheme, we are now able to accept a gift of any amount, and given that any such donations are deducted before tax means that for every £10 that you give will actually only cost you £8. If you are a higher rate tax payer, it will simply cost you £6.
A company can make a donation to the High School of Dundee and can then claim Corporation Tax relief.
A gift can also be made in the memory of a loved one, with their name recognised on our Donor Roll. We do offer opportunities for a more permanent memorial for a deceased family member here at the school. For further information, please reach out to our team at the Office of Development, who would be happy to support your enquiry.
Understanding Gift Aid
The Gift Aid Scheme enables the school to claim tax relief on all donations made by UK taxpayers, automatically increasing the value of your gift to us by 25% at no additional cost to you.
On our Giving Form, there is the option to tick a box to confirm that you wish to include Gift Aid with your donation. By doing so, this allows us to reclaim basic rate tax on the value of any gift.
However, please note that if, in any tax year, you pay less Income Tax / Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations, it will be your responsibility to pay any difference.
