Making a Donation

You can make a one-off individual donation quickly and easily via our website to our Bursary Fund or our Capital Projects.

Alternatively, if you would like to set up a Regular Gift or make an Individual Gift, you can download one of our Giving Forms here, which can be electronically completed and e-mailed directly to us using the contact details further down this page.

By making a donation, you will become part of our community of Donors who understand and value our school's capacity to advance the next generation.

We are trying to encourage and introduce a culture of engagement with our alumni, supporters and the wider High School community with the hope that this will in turn encourage a culture of philanthropy towards projects and campaigns that will be of benefit to our young people, and also the wider Dundee community, for years to come.

For many people, the first step onto the giving ladder is by making an Individual Gift and it is one of the most popular ways of making a donation to The High School of Dundee Foundation.

We are able to welcome Individual Gifts in a variety of ways, for example by cheque, cash, credit/debit card or by completing one of our online giving forms.

Our Regular Giving welcomes people into a recurring and repeating relationship with the School. Typically, our Regular Donors give monthly, quarterly or annually. This is the area where participation is key as there is strength in numbers!

As Simple as a Cup of Coffee

Coffee

Small amounts really do add up. If everyone on our database were to give up the cost of a cup of coffee every day for a year, we would be able to raise an incredible and target-smashing amount.

Assuming a cup of coffee costs £2.75, this would equate to £1003.75 per year per person. If you factored in each person on our database, this could generate around £130,487.50 every single year overall.

Applying Gift Aid to these donations would further increase the overall total per annum. A cup of coffee with Gift Aid applied would be £3.44 per day. Assuming everyone on our database could claim Gift Aid, this would total £1255.60 per person per year and would generate a fantastic £163,228 every single year!!

Understanding Gift Aid

The Gift Aid Scheme enables the School to claim tax relief on all donations made by UK taxpayers, automatically increasing the value of your gift by 25% and at no additional cost to you!

On our online and hard copy giving forms, there is the option to tick a box to confirm that you wish to include Gift Aid with your donation. By doing so, this allows us to reclaim basic rate tax on the value of any gift you make.

However, please note that if, in any tax year, you pay less Income Tax / Capital Gain Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all of your donations, it will be your responsibility to pay the difference.
