Hamish's Story

Hamish, Class of 1997

Hamish

"With two parents working as full-time nurses, it's quite unlikely that I could have attended the High School for six years if it weren't for the financial assistance they received. I was very fortunate that the Assisted Places Scheme was still active during my time at the School as it went on to be abolished at virtually the same time that I completed sixth form.

I can say that I definitely benefitted from learning in an environment where Higher Education was the norm. I am very glad that financial support via means of bursaries still exist, as it allows for a greater amount of diversity amongst the school community, something which I think is highly important."
