Mark, Class of 1972
"I joined DHS as a "new boy" in 1966, having sat and passed the bursary exam. My family - me, my mum, two sisters and a wee brother - had just moved to Dundee and friends had recommended the School to me for my secondary education.
All of my siblings followed suit and also completed their secondary years at the High School. We have all since continued the family tradition of life-long careers with the NHS. I am now retired but my siblings are still working in Dundee and Edinburgh.
I can definitely say that without the financial support of a bursary, there is no way we could have afforded the excellent education and preparation for later life which me, my brother and sisters received at the High School of Dundee."
