Help with Fees

It’s our intention that a High School of Dundee education should be available to any pupil who would benefit from it, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Financial assistance is therefore provided to support those pupils who without that help may otherwise be unable to attend.

Bursary support is available to pupils in L6 and L7 of the Junior School and throughout the Senior School, and is awarded on the basis of academic ability and financial need. We work hard to ensure access to our school is as wide as possible and currently nearly a fifth of our secondary pupils benefit from means tested financial support, which can range from 10% to 100% of fees. Our average level of award is 60% of the tuition fee and, in total, we allocate around £1m per annum in bursary support.

Awards are kept entirely confidential – pupils and teaching staff will not know that your child receives a Bursary, and applicants are not required to undergo specific testing, other than the standard entrance assessment.

A remission of a proportion of the fees will be granted to families who have four or more children attending the High School at any one time. Where three children attend at any one time, families may apply for a discretionary remission.

For further information on help with fees, please see our leaflet on Bursaries. The deadline for bursary applications for August entry is 12pm on the last school day of the preceding December. For a Bursary application form, please contact Mrs Alex McGrory, Head of Admissions, on 01382 202921 or email admissions@highschoolofdundee.org.uk
