Pupils navigate stunning landscapes in DofE trips

Over the course of an exciting 7-day adventure, for their final expedition Gold award candidates took on the epic challenge of canoeing over Loch Tay from Killin, and then down the river Tay to Perth, camping overnight on the shores en route.

Meanwhile, the School’s Silver expeditions are complete for the year, after recent qualifying trips saw pupils hiking and camping their way through glens in Perthshire and the Cairngorms.

Gordon Ross, the School’s Outdoor Activities Coordinator, said, “The open canoeing Tay descent was a terrific challenge and gave our pupils a really exciting opportunity to sign off their DofE expedition experience in memorable style.

“The Silver groups excelled in sometimes challenging conditions and we hope many pupils will now go to make the step up to the Gold Award.”
