Toluwani Idowu (centre) was named the winner of the Rotary GB Young Musician of the Year Competition (Vocal) for the district encompassing Scotland north of the Forth, at Loch Leven Community Campus in Kinross.

Having hit all the right notes with the judges with assured and expressive performances of Vaughan Williams’s ‘Silent Noon’ and Fauré’s ‘Après un rêve’, Toluwani will now go on to compete in the Regional Competition for the whole of Scotland in early March.

Also taking part in the district competition were Catriona Paterson, Megan Cant (both voice) and Fraser Smith (trombone), who had all won through from the Dundee Rotary Clubs’ Competition back in November.
