A number of captivating stills were entered into the categories: Early Years, Junior, Parents, Pet, Secondary and Staff.

The winners of the individual categories were judged by Mrs. Hill, art teacher at St. John’s RC High School and wife of our own Engineering Science teacher, Mr. Hill. The overall winners were decided by 328 members of the school community through a brand-new online voting system!

The overall winners who snapped up success are as follows:

Winner: “Birds Paradise in Snow” by Jing Yu (Parent Category). “It was taken in Monikie Park in the snow during lockdown last year. The whole park became an oasis of serenity for those birds.”

Runner-up: “Snail on a Leaf” by Sophia Macdonald, L3B (Early Years Category). “I like this because it’s like the snail is climbing up a rainbow.”

Third Place: "Splashing Duck" by Ptolemy Goad, F2 (Secondary Category). “Taken in Perth, near my Granny’s house. I have visited this pond regularly since I was tiny.”

Allan Wilson, Computing Science teacher, said, “As ever, the quality of images submitted to the competition was excellent.  There was a particularly high volume of entries from parents.”

“We are indebted to Mrs. Hill for judging each of the categories.  However, it has been recognised that these selections are entirely subjective and that everyone who entered is a winner!”

Well done to everyone who entered!
