A group of High School of Dundee pupils have enjoyed an action-packed outdoor activities week in France!

Ardèche 2023

34 F4 and F5 pupils recently travelled to the Ardèche in the Rhône-Alpes region of the country for an epic 8-day trip that focused on developing teamwork, leadership and resilience, not to mention fun and excitement!

The youngsters threw themselves into a series of challenging activities including a gorge and river walk, high ropes, rock climbing, paddleboarding, a 50km kayaking descent of the Ardèche gorge and much more!

The group also had the chance to learn about the flora, fauna and history of the area and to explore the market town of Vallon.

Trip leader, PE and Guidance teacher Chris Allan, said, “I couldn’t be prouder of the way our pupils approached this week, they embodied everything that we look to instil in our young people here at HSD.

“Everyone took on the activities with confidence and commitment and had a great time as a result.

“Out pupils made a hugely positive impression on the Adventure Ardèche staff, with their conduct and effort levels. I am incredibly grateful to the accompanying staff of Amy Robinson, Rachel Flack, Andrew Downie and Ross Aitken for leading their groups by example and helping to make the trip a real success.”
