Geobus stops at High School

St Andrews University's Geobus made a stop at the High School of Dundee

A visit from a special St Andrews University team has given pupils at the High School of Dundee the chance to unearth the secrets of our planet's history.

Higher Environmental Science pupils were delighted when the Geobus made a scheduled stop at the School to enable staff from the University's Earth & Environmental Sciences department to help the youngsters begin digging into the subject of geology.

Taking part in a workshop, the pupils embarked on a journey through the Rock Cycle, discovering the forces that shape our planet and learning how geologists study earth processes by examining different types of rocks and deducing their history.

The Geobus visits secondary school classrooms across Scotland to engage with pupils to enhance their understanding of Earth Science, and provide resources and support to teachers.
