Whilst at the school William (known as Gray) excelled at sport and the achievement of which he was proudest was captaining the 1st XV Rugby Team.
Upon leaving the school, he qualified and then worked as a Chartered Accountant.
Gray is survived by his wife Muriel, his children Joan and Ewan, his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
