HSD Pupils Slide Into Top Spot At Curling Competition

Two teams of pupils from HSD took part in the Hay Schools Curling Trophy at Perth Ice Rink during the week – with our senior team bringing home the trophy!

The two-day annual competition – which has been running for 49 years – featured 13 teams.

Our younger team (comprised of Anna, Astrid, Woody and William) and the senior team (Calum, Donald, Morag and Ben, with Astrid subbing on the first day) both performed extremely well on day one, finishing in the top four and securing themselves semi-final places.

While our younger team came up just short in their semi-final, our senior team made it through to the final where a competitive and hard-fought game ended with HSD winning 5-2!

Calum, Donald and Ben had previously won the competition in 2019 and are now part of an elite group who have had their names engraved on the silverware twice.

Congratulations to all those who took part! You represented the school brilliantly and we’re very proud!
