Huge congratulations to our Novice A Pipe Band, who finished 2026 as Scottish Champion of Champions runners-up.
The championship ranks bands on their results across the five major championships – the British, UK, European, Scottish and World Championships – providing a real measure of performances across the year.
And what a season the Band enjoyed, winning the British Championships (the first time the full band has won a major championship at Novice A level) finishing 2nd at both the UK and Scottish Championships, and securing strong performances at the European (5th) and World Championships (7th).
The result is even more impressive given that the table is made up not only of other school bands, but also local authority groups and community youth bands from across the world.
We are also incredibly proud of our Novice B Band, who made excellent progress throughout the season and brought home trophies from local competitions in their own grade.
Pipe Major David Wilton said, “This has been our most successful year to date and to seal the Band’s 1st win in a major championship in the Novice A category at the British Championships was a real highlight.
“The pupils have worked extremely hard alongside their studies, sport and other co-curricular activities to achieve this success and we are extremely proud of their efforts.”
