New Records Set By HSD Pupils At Dundee Schools Athletics

Congratulations to our HSD athletes on setting a number of new track and field records at the Dundee Schools Athletics Championship!

Four new HSD marks – and three Dundee Schools marks – were set as Favour, Iris, Maisie and Ben brought home 10 gold medals and 1 silver between them!

After claiming both the 100m and 200m S2 girls titles in 12.5s and 27.19s seconds respectively, Maisie is now a double HSD record holder and the Dundee Schools 100m record holder.

In being crowned S4-6 girls 100m champion with a time of 12.06s, Favour beat the HSD record which had been set by J Hogg in 1975 and also set a new Dundee Schools Athletics record.

Iris ran the Senior Girls S4/S5/S6 400m in 1m06s to win the event in a new Dundee Schools record time.

And Ben is now the HSD S3 Boys 100m record holder after winning in a time of 11.68 to overhaul the previous HSD record set by K Glass 50 years ago!

Meanwhile the HSD Festival of Sport also saw a record not just fall, but be shattered as Juliet set a fantastic new mark of 11.33m in the Girls F4-6 shot put, eclipsing the previous record of 9.82m set by L Webb in 1999!
