Day 1 of the new term saw our pupils discover our brand-new Health & Food Technology teaching kitchen!
The fully-equipped, modern classroom provides a brilliant environment for developing practical cooking skills, learning about nutrition and exploring a range of food preparation techniques. A great addition to our school facilities!
We can’t wait to see all the amazing things our young people will cook up this year!
Head of Health & Food Technology, Lesley Ross, was delighted to see the pupils making the most of the department’s new home. She said, “In Health & Food Technology we’re doing far more than just teaching pupils to cook – we’re giving them practical life skills they will use every single day, and the new kitchen classroom is the perfect environment for this learning to take place.
“Combining hands-on cooking with the science of food and nutrition, we are helping pupils understand exactly how their dietary choices affect their health and the environment. It is incredibly rewarding to see pupils build real confidence in the kitchen and develop skills and healthy habits that will last a lifetime.”
