Singing Children Of Africa At HSD

Singing Children Of Africa At HSD. Children on stage dancing in African inspired clothing with percussion band playing alongside by them.

Yesterday we were thrilled to welcome the Singing Children of Africa to HSD!

Our Nursery, Junior and Senior Years pupils had the chance to watch the group – which is made up of talented teenage singers and performers from the Jolaurabi School in Kenya – perform during the day, before a fantastic public concert, packed full of contemporary and traditional African music and dance, was held in Trinity Hall in the evening.

The concert – part of the Singing Children of Africa 2023 UK tour – raised more than £1,100 for the charity Educate the Kids, which provides education for the poorest children in the hope that education can help free them from poverty.

We were also thrilled to be able to give the group a tour of the school, during which they were able to meet our pupils and sample some local delicacies!
