The Senior Years

Senior Years

Pupils spend up to six years in our Senior Years, from the ages of around 12-18 (S1-S6). Their time with us is designed to equip them with the skills, experience and qualifications on which to base future study or careers, and to ensure that they leave us as happy, confident and successful individuals.

’From homework feedback and school events, all the way up to national exam results and international opportunities, you can clearly see just how much your children benefit from the tireless work and care provided by every teacher at the High School of Dundee, helping them grow at every stage of their academic development, broaden their horizons and achieve their ambitions.’

Pupils have the opportunity to take part in a huge range of co-curricular activities, while regular trips and the chance to take part in overseas expeditions offer challenges and inspiration.

The classroom experience is enhanced by the adoption of the latest technology, which means the use of iPads is part of everyday learning and teaching in F1-F6 (S1-S6) in the Senior Years. Our goal is to give our pupils access to an ever-growing range of educational benefits which the devices deliver, as well as ensuring that they are up to date with the productive use of the latest technology. Increasing emphasis is given to careers advice and preparing for life after school as pupils progress through the Senior Years and, ultimately, around 95% of leavers move on to Higher Education across the UK and beyond. Find out more about the Progression of our pupils.
