Pupil production brings mystery and mayhem to HSD stage

Mystery and mayhem is coming to the stage of HSD!

A classic whodunnit is getting a fresh twist this month as our F6 pupils prepare to unveil their very own production of Cluedo on February 26th.

Directed by pupil George Duffus and inspired by Jonathan Lynn’s iconic screenplay, the show promises a riotous blend of comedy, chaos, and suspense.

Audiences will be swept into the eerie grandeur of Boddy Manor on a dark and stormy night, where an eccentric cast of dinner guests arrive with secrets they’d rather keep buried.

But when their elusive host is found dead the evening spirals into a frantic hunt for the culprit as the characters hurtle from room to room in a breathless race to uncover the truth before more bodies fall.

Beyond the entertaining on‑stage antics, the production marks a milestone for the pupils themselves. They’ve taken the reins on every aspect of the show—from costuming and set design to lighting, sound, hair, and makeup—gaining superb hands‑on experience in the full creative process of theatre-making.

George says, “We’ve been working hard to put on a great performance and although we’ve had challenges the experience has been a lot of fun. I would certainly recommend it as a project for the years below in the future.

“Personally, I have found directing skills I didn’t know I had and it has definitely helped me with aspects of my Advanced Higher Drama course. As a different option to this year’s Senior Years musical, we were inspired to put on a Form 6 play ourselves and after conversations with companies over in New York, we gained the rights to put on the Amateur stage production. We can’t wait to present it on the 26th, and I hope that you’ll join us!”

Don’t miss this student‑led spectacle!

The performance takes place in Trinity Hall at 7pm (doors 6.45) on Thursday 26th February. Tickets, £6, at: https://F6Cluedo.eventbrite.co.uk
