Junior School pupils make mark on Classical Mythology

3 L7 pupils in front of whiteboard for Classics lesson

P7 pupils jumped at the chance to make their own mark on Classical Mythology!

Senior Years Latin teacher Ms Deeks-Nisbet recently ran a workshop offering the pupils a fantastic chance to learn about the tales and culture of Ancient Greece and Rome.

They took inspiration from the story of Phaethon – who desired knowledge and experience beyond his years with fatal consequences! – to create their own myth in all manner of genres: from plays, raps and podcasts, to comic strips and animation.

The best pieces will go on to be submitted as HSD’s entries for the prestigious Ovid Competition run by the Cambridge School Classics Project.

A great way for young minds to explore a fascinating subject!
