HSD pupils win three titles at major Mandarin Speaking Competition

HSD pupils shone at the SCEN Youth Summit Mandarin Speaking Competition, winning titles in every category they entered.

Demonstrating excellent pronunciation and stage presence, each HSD performance was awarded first place in its category and together the pupils were awarded Best Group Performance.

  • our F1 Group wowed with the inspirational song, ‘As Wished’《如愿》
  • our F2 Group brought ‘The 12 Chinese Zodiac’ 《十二生肖》to life in drama and song
  • and Emily (F2) impressed with poetry recitations of ‘The Power of Chinese Characters’《汉字的力量》and ‘Farewell Again to Cambridge’《再别康桥》

More than 150 contestants took part in the Edinburgh event, with an audience of 300 watching on.

A fantastic experience that showcased talent, lots of hard work and dedication, and the joy of Mandarin learning across Scotland.
