Later this month the High School of Dundee will be holding a three-day Piano Festival, featuring pupil performances, parent workshops and a recital by renowned Dundee-born pianist Murray McLachlan!
The festival, which is sponsored by Kenny’s Music and our Old Boys’ Club, will run from Wednesday 21 February to Friday 23 February.
On Wednesday, our piano teachers will be holding a performance in Trinity, which will be followed by a recital from our Senior Years pupils.
The following day, our Junior Years pianists will take to the stage to play for family and pupils in the morning and afternoon. That will be followed by an HSD Community Piano Meet-Up in the evening, where parents, family members and staff of any ability will have the chance to play for each other in a supportive and fun environment.
On Friday morning, we’ll be holding a Piano Try-Out session, allowing members of the school community to sign up for a free 20-minute consultation with one of our piano teachers.
After this, Murray McLachlan will visit the school to provide a masterclass for some of our most promising young players before performing an evening recital from 5pm to 6pm!
Spaces for all events at the High School of Dundee Piano Festival are limited, so anyone interested in attending our meet-up, try-outs, or Murray McLachlan’s recital should email organiser Stephen Armstrong at sarmstrong@highschoolofdundee.org.uk.
