HSD celebrates Anti-bullying Week 2025

HSD pupils have been celebrating Anti-Bullying Week with events based around the theme of Power for Good.

Our Wellbeing Prefects and Rights Respecting Schools Prefects organised a range of activities promoting positive behaviour, reinforcing understanding of the effects of bullying and how pupils can counter the hurt and harm it causes.

They planned and hosted an amazing talent show and a non-uniform day, enabling a focus on creating a positive environment for all and an opportunity for pupils to express themselves and celebrate their talents and differences.

Following antibullying-themed assemblies last week, pupils also continued to engage with Respect Me’s (Scotland’s national antibullying service) resources during registration and PSHE lessons.

And as the Senior School works towards becoming a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, pupils discussed how bullying is a breach of children’s rights.

They were also asked to reflect on how bullying behaviour might make them feel compared to how kindness can make you feel. Feedback gathered was collated and displayed in one of our social spaces.

The non-uniform day – Feel Good Friday – rounded things off and raised £376 for Dundee mental health charity Feeling Strong.
