An informal evening to explore what makes Form 6 such a unique and valuable experience
Tuesday 9 June 2026 | 6.15pm to 7.30 pm,
High School of Dundee
Exploring education options for your child?
Choosing what comes after school can feel like a big decision.
Our Form 6 Information Evening is designed to give you a clear, honest understanding of what the final year at the High School of Dundee offers.
If you’re unable to attend, we’d still be very happy to help you explore Form 6. Simply email our admissions team and we can arrange a call, book a personal tour of the school or share a copy of our Form 6 brochure with you.
Why attend?
It is easy to measure the tangible benefits of Form 6 – strong exam results, university offers and clear onward pathways.
But what defines the experience, and what families often value most, are the less visible outcomes.
Form 6 is a year where pupils grow in confidence, develop resilience and begin to take ownership of their future, all within a supportive environment.
Attending this evening will help you understand how that happens in practice.
You’ll gain a clearer picture of:
- How pupils are prepared for life beyond school, not just exams
- The flexibility of subject choices, including combining Advanced Highers, Highers and other qualifications
- The individual support available, including 1-2-1 UCAS and careers guidance
- The wider experience beyond the classroom, from leadership roles to co-curricular and enrichment opportunities
- How pupils develop confidence, maturity and independence during their final year
You’ll also hear how specialist teachers and pastoral staff work closely with pupils – supporting both academic progress and personal development as they prepare for their onward journey.
Most importantly, this is an opportunity to look beyond results and understand the full experience.
What to expect
The evening is designed to give you a clear, structured overview of Form 6, with time to ask questions and explore your own circumstances.
You will hear about:
- Subject choices and timetables – how programmes are built around pupil preferences and goals
- University applications and future pathways – including UCAS support and options beyond university
- Pastoral care and wellbeing – how pupils are supported throughout the year
- Co-curricular life and leadership opportunities – and how these contribute to personal development
