Why Attend?
Our Discovery Days are your chance to see what makes life at The High School of Dundee so special – real lessons, real pupils, and the energy of a normal school day. It’s a warm, personal way to get a true feel for the school before you take your next steps.
See HSD in action –Â Visit on a real school day to experience lessons and the energy of our classrooms first-hand.
Tailored just for you – Every Discovery Day is unique, focusing on the subjects and areas most relevant to your child.
Meet key staff –Â If you let us know when booking, we can arrange for you to speak with senior staff or specialists such as the Learning Skills Team, Head of Pastoral Care, or Senior Leadership Team.
Something always happening –Â Depending on the day, you might catch special events like the Piano Festival, Guitar Day, or Activities Week in action.
What to Expect
Every visit is slightly different, but a typical Discovery Day might include:
A personal welcome at Reception from a member of our Admissions Team.
A guided tour tailored to your interests. From classrooms and labs to performance spaces and sports facilities.
Conversations with staff in areas that matter most to you.
Time to explore and ask questions, helping you get a real feel for our atmosphere and community.
How it Differs From a Tour
A Tour offers a shorter, guided look around campus, at a time that works for you.
Our Discovery Days, on the other hand, takes place on a set date. It’s a special opportunity to see the school in action as lessons unfold, meet key staff, and experience the buzz of a normal day at the High School of Dundee.
