L3 Pupils Enjoy Busy Day In Broughty Ferry

L3 Pupils Enjoy Busy Day In Broughty Ferry. Pupils on filed trip standing in front of castle looking joyful.

As part of their topic work on the River Tay, L3 pupils at the High School of Dundee recently enjoyed a busy day exploring Broughty Ferry!

The pupils visited the RNLI station, where coxswain Peter Hay helped them find out all about the invaluable work that the organisation does. As well as hearing about the history of the RNLI, the youngsters had the chance to look at the lifeboats and equipment, and even try on some of the clothing that the crew wear!

History was next on the agenda, with a trip to Broughty Castle. After exploring the castle and its defensive features, the children visited the museum where they learned about life and the natural history of the town over the last 7000 years and enjoyed amazing views from the observation room.

A very popular final stop of the day was Visocchi’s Gelateria, where the children were each very kindly treated to an ice-cream courtesy of the owners.

A big thank you Visocchi’s!
