The event brought together talented young musicians from all over rotary district 1010 – which stretches from the River Forth up to the Shetlands and Outer Hebrides – to compete in various musical categories.

Cameron Brown was declared the winner of the vocal category, with Harry Yin claiming the runner-up spot in the instrumental category.

Emily Hough (accompanied on the pipes by Hamish Lowrie) and Beth Rieu-Clark also gave impressive performances and, with four competitors, HSD had more pupils taking part n the Rotary Young Musician Competition than any other school.

Cameron and Harry will now go through to the Regional Final, for competitors across all of Scotland, at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland at the end of March.

Well done to all of the pupils, and their teachers who helped prepare them for the event!
