"I was accepted into the High School of Dundee and received a bursary towards my education. After a wonderful time spent at the School, I left in 1961 and went on to train as an Accountant, played rugby and cricket with fellow FPs and overall thoroughly enjoyed my life in Dundee.
After completing my training in accountancy, I fancied a complete break and, through family contacts, worked for a summer at the Bridge of Orchy Hotel where I went on to meet the lady who was destined to be my wife.
Overall, my education at the School really did set me up for the future and I'm so grateful that I was able to have all of the opportunities and experiences that I did. I hope many other young people are able to continue to benefit from bursarial support for generations to come."
