Pupils at the High School of Dundee consistently score well above national averages in SQA examinations.
In 2011, Form 5 pupils achieved a record pass rate at Higher of 95%, beating the previous best by 2.8%. 57% of all papers were A grade passes and a fifth of all candidates achieved five straight As. 71% of pupils achieved five Higher passes. Form 6 pupils achieved a very high standard for Advanced Highers, with 50% of papers passed at A grade, and 76% passed at A or B.
Form 4 pupils also performed extremely well, achieving a 96.4% pass-rate at Intermediate 2. In addition, 91% of Standard Grade papers were passed at Credit level, with 70% of all papers passed at Grade 1. 90% of all Form 4 pupils achieved five or more passes at Credit or Intermediate 2.
In recent years, High School pupils have scored Scotland’s top grades in Higher or Advanced Higher History, Chemistry, and Biology exams.
