The Stars come out for Christmas

This Christmas, children in HSD’s Early Years have been taking friends and family on an exciting trip to Tinseltown – and not because they’ve gone overboard with sparkly decorations!

Pupils in L1-L3 have just finished performing their dazzling Nativity show ‘The Stars Come Out For Christmas’.

Pupils in L1-L3 have just finished performing their dazzling Nativity show ‘The Stars Come Out For Christmas’.

The production, by Andrew Oxspring for Edgy Productions, transported family members and fellow pupils to the Annual Christmas Awards Ceremony, live from Hollywood.

While reporters relayed the excitement of fans who had gathered by the Red Carpet to watch their favourite festive stars arrive, hosts Miss Carol Singer and Mr Noel Knowles had the honour of presenting the prizes.

As the anticipation built, and a cast of colourful characters delivered a series of splendidly catchy seasonal songs, the focus was on who would win the ‘Cracker’ award, the title presented to the star who has made an Outstanding Contribution to Christmas!

Deputy Head (L1-L3) Claire Proudfoot said of the production, in which every child in the year groups has played a part, said, “After a hiatus of two years we were delighted to be able to throw open the doors and welcome a live audience once again!

“The pupils have really embraced the Nativity this year. They have been amazing and we’ve had such fun together!”

Money raised through a collection at this year’s performances will be donated to the Scottish Book Trust.
