High School of Dundee musicians are celebrating success in the Dundee Rotary Clubs’ Young Musician of the Year Competition!

Congratulations to Megan Cant and Fraser Smith (trombone), who were named as the winners of the Vocal and Instrumental sections respectively, at the contest at Dundee University’s Chaplaincy Centre on Friday.

Well done also to Hamish Petrie (guitar), who was runner-up in the Instrumental section, and to Fiona Sharp who sang beautifully in the vocal competition.

Lionel Steuart Fothringham, Director of Music at the High School, said, “Very well done to all of our pupils who took part. On the night they showed the capabilities of HSD pupils at their best.

“I know they will share with me in thanking their music teachers at the School for all their coaching, rehearsing and support of the pupils.”
