Yesterday afternoon the quartet of Oliver Ledlie, Bea Bate, Freya Galvin and Charlie Grewar finished as the highest ranked Scottish team in the grand final of the National Reading Champions Quiz, which took place at The Royal College of Nursing in London.

The annual contest is open to school teams of 10 to 14-year-olds from across the UK, challenging keen readers to answer questions on a series of topics ranging from book titles and characters to authors and brain teasers. The HSD squad had secured their place in the final after successfully defending the School’s title of North East and South East Scotland Champions in the regional heats.

The competition is run by the National Literacy Trust and funded by the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society (ALCS).

Great effort Team!
