This summer, Dundee Rotary Club sponsored pupils from local schools to attend a week-long Leadership camp in the Highlands. Four Pupils from HSD took part in the programme and had the opportunity to experience a wide range of adventurous activities, such as abseiling, gorge walking, hill walking, mountain biking, raft-building as well as participate in other leadership building exercises.

The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards took place at Nethy Bridge in the Scottish Highlands and was attended by pupils from schools across Scotland. The week-long camp aimed to develop leadership skills through a programme of physical and intellectual activities developing teamwork, leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

On Thursday, pupils from HSD and Harris Academy worked together to deliver a joint presentation for Dundee Rotary Club, reflecting on their experience at the RYLA. Pictured above: HSD participants Fraser Coupar (F6), Rami Abboud (F6) and Tegan Hunter-Franks (F6) with pupils from Harris Academy.

Charities and Community Outreach Coordinator, Karlene Douglas: "We are really grateful to the Rotary Club for sponsoring pupils from our school to take part in the programme. The pupils really bonded with pupils from other schools- including many Dundee schools. This has been fantastic as it has formed positive working relationships for the many charities projects they work on together in the city. We meet with other Dundee schools such as Harris Academy, Morgan Academy and St Peter and Paul’s to share fundraising ideas on a monthly basis."
