School hands over donation to Foodbank

A big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the School’s efforts to support Dundee Foodbank during these challenging times.

The School has handed over a donation to the Foodbank

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the charity is experiencing an increase in the number of referrals for people facing food poverty in the city.

In response, the School has been eager to try to help the Foodbank as it continues its essential work of providing three-day emergency food parcels to vulnerable people in the community.

Last week, the School’s Charities and Community Outreach Coordinator, Karlene Douglas, was able to hand over a sizeable donation of food and toiletries which have been donated by pupils, parents and staff using our Care Hub facility at Mayfield.

And so far more than £500 has been raised for the charity through the online fundraising page which the school has set up.

Karlene said, “I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has made a donation over the past few weeks. Your generosity will make a big difference to the Foodbank as it tries to deal with an increasing need for its services.”

If you would like to make a donation to help the Foodbank buy essential stock during these busy times, please go to: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/highschoolofdundee

Those using the Care Hub can also still donate an item from home if they wish to do so.
