Claire, who will take up the position at the start of May, said, “I am delighted to be taking on the role of Bursar at the High School of Dundee.

“The ‘High School’ has played a huge part in my own life. It equipped me with invaluable skills, provided me with amazing experiences and gave me life-long friends.

“This is an interesting period for independent education providers and I will do all I can to assist in the further progression of the School and all it brings to Dundee and the local community. I am very much looking forward to both the challenge and opportunity which this position offers.”

Rector Dr John D Halliday said, “The role of Bursar as the senior member of staff responsible for all the financial, property and HR aspects of the school, along with the support staff, is crucial to the continuing success of the School. Claire MacDonald was the unanimous choice out of a strong field and we all look forward to welcoming Claire back to the school on 6th May.”

Claire succeeds current Bursar Jill Henderson who, after six years of outstanding service, will leave the School in May to take up a prestigious position in the commercial sector.
