Rugby teams retain regional title!

For the second year in succession, HSD has won the school conference – the Inspiresport Boys National 2 (East) Schools Conference – in which it competes.

The Conference title is decided by the results of all of the teams for each competing school, right the way from U13 to U18, making it a truly whole school rugby effort, spread over an entire season of challenging fixtures.

The National 2 (East) Conference includes Robert Gordon’s College, Loretto, George Heriot’s and Glenalmond, and the High School topped the table by an impressive 7 points.

Phil Godman, Head of Rugby and High Performance Sport, was delighted to see the teams retain the title which the School won for the first time last year.

He said, “I’m delighted for everyone who has been involved with our rugby teams this year. What is most rewarding is the fact that It really is a team effort and all the boys can feel proud that they’ve played their part in securing the Conference title.

“I’d also like to say a big thank you to the parents who have helped to create such a great atmosphere at Mayfield on a Saturday morning, as well as supporting our teams on the road as well.”
