Pupils from the High School of Dundee had the chance to put some politicians on the spot during a visit to the Scottish Parliament.

30 pupils in F4 and F6 recently took part in a trip to Holyrood to complement their National 5 and AH Modern Studies courses on Democracy in Scotland.

After enjoying a tour of the building and taking in First Minister’s Questions, the pupils made the most of the opportunity to quiz Dundee MSPs Joe Fitzpatrick and Shona Robison and Angus MSP Graeme Dey in a Q&A session in one of the Parliament’s committee rooms.

Gordon Fyall, Head of History and Modern Studies, said, “It’s always a hugely worthwhile experience for the pupils to be able to visit Holyrood and to see Parliament in action.

“The pupils really enjoyed having the chance to engage directly with their local MSPs and to put questions to them.”
