Some Senior Years pupils were recently filmed giving readings for BBC1 Scotland’s Christmas Eve Service, which this year comes from St Paul’s Cathedral, Dundee.

The youngsters, who had the option to read their texts but instead, impressively chose to memorise them, were recorded in the Cathedral, where they were joined by Drama teacher Lynsey Sangster, whose has also given a reading.

Also featuring in the broadcast will be pupil Ailsa Macdonald, singing the solo verse in Once in Royal David’s City, as well as other singers from the School performing as part of the NYCoS (National Youth Choirs of Scotland) Dundee Area Choir and the St Paul’s Cathedral Choir.

The pupil readers are: Jonah Phillipson-Masters, Malavikha Sudarshan, Ryan Kilburn, Sophia Kapelyukh, Jack Sandilands, Isla Hutchinson, Inez Spence, Emily Baxter and Leon McNair.

The programme, presented by Sally Magnusson, will be broadcast on BBC1 Scotland at 11.45pm on Christmas Eve.
