Pupils take part in Reverse Advent for Foodbank

High School of Dundee pupils have been getting behind a project to help Dundee Foodbank make Christmas a little brighter for those in need in our city.

Pupils at the High School of Dundee held a Reverse Advent for Dundee Foodbank

Throughout the month of November, registration classes in the Senior Years donated a range of goods and items for the Foodbank as part of a Reverse Advent.

As a result, a bumper collection awaited Dundee Foodbank Manager Ken Linton when he came in to talk to Higher Modern Studies classes about the work of the Foodbank in tackling social inequality in the city.

Karlene Douglas, History and Modern Studies teacher and Charities and Community Outreach Co-ordinator at the School, said, “We were delighted to be able to hand over the collection to Ken, and huge thanks to all the pupils, parents and staff who kindly donated.

“The pupils study poverty, government and third sector responses to the issue as part of their course and Ken’s talk was very insightful and helped the pupils appreciate the inequality in their very own city.”
