Pupils across the Junior and Senior Years brought their best performances before a panel of judges in a number of categories.

Ultimately, it was Jan van der Kuyl that walked away with the overall winner’s trophy, and Emily Hough that claimed the drumming winner’s trophy. Olivia Patrick won the Tenor and Bass overall.

Pipe Major David Wilton said, “Mr Graham, Mr Semple and I are incredibly proud of all the pupils efforts in preparing for this daunting task. For many this competition can be an anxious day however, they all pulled through and you could see how pleased they were for participating.

With over 70 performances, it was a big day and would not be possible without the HSD staff and our wonderful sponsors, McCallum Bagpipes, Leonard Family, Van der Kuyl Family, Watson Family and Dailly Family, and our fantastic Pipe Band parents committee for organising yummy treats for the audience.

We are also grateful to our expert judges, Arthur Cook, Brian Elrick and Iain Simpson for giving up their time to adjudicate.”

Well done pipes and drums of HSD!
