The event sees 5-11-year-old children and their families log physical activity, which is then converted into a distance, moving participants along a virtual journey to the Japanese capital.

With the route taking in previous host cities all across the globe as well, the total target distance to be covered by the time the Games get underway in July is a whopping 47,349km! But, taking part in year group teams, HSD pupils have put in a gold medal winning performance, racking up an amazing 151,502 virtual kiolmetres so far – enough to have completed the journey more than three times over!

The remarkable distance has been achieved via a whole host of activities, including running, cycling, dancing, and walking. And with a huge variety of hobbies in the school community, and so many families getting involved, even more visits to the home of this year’s Games could be on the cards.

Keep up the good work everyone, and remember to keep logging your activities with the PE department!
