Rachel Strachan (F6), Isla McRobbie (F5) and Joanna Johnston (F5), will represent Dundee Devils at the inaugural Scottish Hockey Development Series which takes place this weekend at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre.

Part of the first-ever Women’s Super Series, the competition brings together Scotland’s top emerging talent to line up for three regional teams – Dundee Devils, Edinburgh Lightning and Glasgow Thunder – in round robin competition.

And the three pupils won’t be the only High School representatives at the event, with Hockey coach Iain Strachan also part of the coaching team for both the Senior Super Series and the Development Dundee Devils teams.

For Joanna, Isla and Rachel – who all play club hockey for Grove Menzieshill – participation in the Development Series follows on from recent selection at national level, with Joanna and Isla having been named in the Scotland U18 Development Squad and Rachel called up to the full U18 Scottish squad.

Head of Hockey at the High School, Linda Anderson, said, “I’m sure the Super Series tournament will be a great event and it’s fantastic to have three of our players involved in the Dundee Devils Development squad.

“The girls will be exposed to a high standard of hockey, competing alongside the best young players in the country. We also have a number of our coaches and umpires involved across the weekend – we wish them all the best of luck!”
