Pupils celebrate Burns Day

Pupils in the Junior Years have been celebrating Burns Day!

Burns Day at the High School of Dundee

To mark the occasion, pupils in L5 wore ‘a touch of tartan’ and joined in a range of activities to honour the life and works of the national bard.

The children enjoyed taking part in lots of fantastic performances – poetry, instrumental, highland dancing and singing - before sitting down for a Burns Supper, complete with the piping in of the haggis, the ‘Address to a Haggis’, the ‘Selkirk Grace’ and a toast to the lassies and laddies!

Pupils in L2 meanwhile will soon be starting a project on Famous People, and their contributions to society. So, ahead of that, who better for the children to learn about today than Robert Burns! The pupils had great fun staging a short performance about the poet, which helped to develop their knowledge of him.
