Prize-Giving 2020

The High School of Dundee has rounded off its academic year with a virtual prize-giving.

Prize-Giving 2020

With the traditional Caird Hall ceremony cancelled because of the covid pandemic, the online event gave the school the chance to announce and congratulate its principal prizewinners, and to wish its departing F6 year group well as they bid farewell to HSD.

The virtual ceremony also saw the Head Boy and Head Girl give reflective and emotional speeches, the new Heads of School, Senior Prefects and House Captains welcomed into their new roles, and the announcement of the House Shield winners (you’ll have to tune in below to find out!)

The F6 cohort also heard some inspiring words of wisdom from FPs Andy Nicol, Eilish McColgan, Jonny Petrie and KT Tunstall, who all wished the leavers well as they prepared to wave goodbye to their school days under the most unprecedent of circumstances.

Rector Lise Hudson spoke of the challenges which the Coronavirus pandemic had presented, praising the pupils for the way had responded and thanking the staff for their hard work and dedication.

Turning to the F6 year group, she said, “Some of you are leaving after 13 years at the School, others have joined along the way. But you are united by all that you’ve given during your time as part of the High School family.”
