Junior Years Music Competition

Trinity Hall was alive with the sound of music earlier this week as talented young performers took to the stage for the Junior Years Music Competition.

Junior Years Music Competition

More than 80 pupils from L3 through to L7 took part in the annual event, entertaining an enchanted audience of parents and family members with renditions of pieces ranging from classical and traditional to contemporary.

And with the instruments in use including violin, viola, violoncello, recorder, flute, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, piano, drumkit, clàrsach, guitar, voice, horn, trumpet and trombone, the variety wasn’t restricted to the style of music!

Director of Music, Lionel Steuart Fothringham, said, “It was a fantastic day of performances by our Junior Years pupils.

“They had clearly worked hard to achieve the consistently high standards on show, and were able to present themselves confidently on stage. My thanks go to my colleagues in the Music Department for their teaching and accompanying of the pupils, as well as to parents for their support at home.”
