Goals and tries galore at HSD P7 hockey and rugby festival

The goals and tries were flying in from all angles yesterday afternoon as the High School of Dundee hosted its annual P7 Hockey and Rugby Festival!

The goals and tries were flying in from all angles yesterday afternoon as the High School of Dundee hosted its annual P7 Hockey and Rugby Festival

Teams of budding young sports stars from schools from across the country lined up against each other in a series of exciting, keenly-contested fixtures at Mayfield.

In the hockey competition, squads from HSD, Dollar, Morrison’s, Robert Gordon’s, Strathallan and St Leonards, took to the all-weather pitches of Dalnacraig for an exciting round-robin tournament, packed full of impressive performances. In the end, the host side emerged victorious and lifted the trophy, with Aoife Short also winning the player of the tournament award.

Meanwhile, the rugby tournament saw teams from HSD, Dollar, Edinburgh Academy, Morrison’s, Robert Gordon’s, Strathallan and St Leonards, battle it out in a series of high intensity 15- minute fixtures, with Edinburgh Academy being crowned the overall winners.
