Footballer nets Scotland debut
22nd January 2019
A talented footballer from the High School of Dundee has netted a Scotland debut.
Alix Saddler made her first appearance for her country when she lined up for the Scottish Independent Schools Football Association U16 side which took on England at St George’s Park in Staffordshire last month.
The midfielder was, impressively, one of only three S2-aged girls to make it through to the final squad from the national trials, with the rest coming from S3 and S4.
Alix, who plays club football for Forfar Farmington, said, “I was delighted and honoured to represent my country as this was the next step in my football career. I really enjoyed the experience and would love to do it again.”
