Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

During September and early October, pupils undertaking the Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards, were out and about in Dundee and North Fife fulfilling their expedition sections.

Due to the pandemic, the Award has established temporary measures with the ‘traditional’ expedition making way for day trips.

The School’s Outdoor Activities Coordinator, Gordon Ross, said, “Although many of us missed the camping aspects, it was fantastic to be journeying again, discovering the wonderful scenery in Dundee and Fife.

“The West End gave us the shore, and Balgay and the Law Hills provided us with spectacular views. The Dighty Burn had nature running through the city. Tentsmuir had us lying on the beach watching seals, whilst further inland beautiful red squirrels ran past us.

“Sometimes we don’t need to travel far for an amazing experience.”
