Children at the High School of Dundee were thrilled to hand over a donation to Dundee Foodbank.

Pupils in L2 (P2), and their parents, contributed a huge range of items to a collection for the charity which was organised as part of a harvest-themed classroom project.

The youngsters were delighted when Dundee Foodbank Manager Ken Linton then paid a visit to receive the donation and talk to them about the work of the organisation.

He said, “I’d like to say a big thank you to the children, and their families, for all the items they have donated.

“It was lovely to meet the pupils and to be able to talk to them about the work of the Foodbank and why it’s needed.”

L2 teachers Margaret Cardno and Jillian Wallace organised the collection. Margaret said, “We have been trying to encourage the pupils to consider people less fortunate than themselves with respect to food and the children were very pleased to be able to give the donation to Mr Linton.”
