Shortly before the holidays, pupils from L4 to F6 had not one, but two dishes of the day to choose from in the Dining Hall as a pair of cuisine-conscious groups served up their very own freshly prepared specialities in the hope of securing enough votes to win the annual contest.

After the diners’ appetites had been well and truly satisfied, the option of Chicken Madras with flat breads, basmati rice, poppadums and mango chutney was announced as the winner, polling 64% of the vote to overcome the alternative offering of Fajitas Para Comer with smoked paprika.

Head of Health and Food Technology, Lesley Ross, said, “Actively engaging in such a project gives the pupils an insight into Food Technology and they always come back animated about all they have learned. This would not have been possible without the help of Catering Manager, Greg Johnston.”
