Four High School of Dundee pipers performed with world famous musician André RieuSome High School of Dundee pipers have performed with one of the world's most famous musicians!

Last Thursday evening Robbie Coupar (F5), Rory Grant (F2), Tom Dalglish (F4), and Craig Gunn (F4) had the privilege of sharing the stage with superstar violinist and conductor, André Rieu, during his sold-out concert at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow.

The quartet were given the once in a lifetime opportunity by the School's Pipe Major, and piping instructor, David Wilton, whose own band, the British, United Kingdom and Scottish Championship-winning Lomond and Clyde Pipe Band, had been asked to perform with the Dutch maestro.

Having been invited by David to join the band for the occasion, the pupils played their part in rousing performances of Highland Cathedral, Amazing Grace and Scotland the Brave, for which they were accompanied by André Rieu's orchestra.

David Wilton said, "The boys were over the moon to be able to perform alongside one of the world's most famous musicians at a packed-out arena.

"It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and they received high praise for their performances from the other band members."
